Helsinki Energy and Climate Atlas

Helsinki’s free atlas uses the city’s 3D models to examine building energy and renewable potential. It includes modeled heating demand, solar and geothermal opportunities. These are calculated estimates rather than universal live meter readings. The service is publicly available while the city continues developing additional functions.

Use cases

Evaluate energy renovation and renewable options.

Physical-system connection

No sensor or operational-data connection to the physical system is established by the retained evidence. Geometry, registers, modeled estimates or spatial layers alone do not establish that connection.

Decision workflow

See the documented use cases. A planning or visualization use case alone does not establish a maintained operational data workflow.

Classification basis

The retained evidence establishes a 3D spatial model or map. A connected twin is not established for this specific listing; capabilities of a wider municipal platform are not automatically attributed to its public viewer.

Helsinki Energy and Climate Atlas v2

Publisher: Helsinki3D+ · Published

Historical demonstration

Helsinki3D+ presents version 2 of the Energy and Climate Atlas, with building energy information, heating-demand estimates, solar potential and geoenergy layers. The publisher identifies the same municipal Atlas endpoint retained by SCD. Recorded in 2020, this demonstration illustrates an earlier version; it does not establish the current availability or update cadence of each layer.

Endpoint checks verify link health. They do not certify that every 3D layer, simulation, or data feed works. Public access and lifecycle are assessed separately.
