Houston · ERCOT HOUSTON forecast zone
ERCOT HOUSTON forecast zone; a regional grid-load aggregate, not Houston municipal consumption or the entire ERCOT system.
unavailable · Latest observation: No reading collected
Highest collected reading in this region’s local day; gaps can hide the true peak.
A sufficiently complete day is required. · MW is power; MWh is power integrated over time.
Demand through time
Rolling 24 Hours shows the latest source cadence. Seven- and thirty-day views use complete hourly values only. Missing hours are never interpolated.
Compare Cities & Regions
Compare source-reported demand across city-associated grid zones and regional grid zones. City-associated zones follow operator-defined grid boundaries; they do not represent municipal electricity consumption. Comparisons include authorized actual observations only. Actual demand is shown in MW and is distinguished from any future forecast series.

Official source ↗ · Provider terms ↗How the numbers are calculated
MW measures the rate of electricity demand. ERCOT values are actual hourly averages, labeled at their operating hour-ending interval; current-day observations are provisional and may be revised in the completed-day report. Source timestamps, time zones, DST flags, units and quality are preserved in the owner-only research archive.
Sampled five-minute series, when authorized, are integrated only between adjacent valid observations. Missing intervals are never filled. A daily energy total or downloadable snapshot requires complete local-day coverage. Local days may contain 23, 24 or 25 hours. Coverage describes collected intervals, not a guarantee of provider accuracy.
Historical observations and corrections are preserved separately from the dashboard cache. The monitor displays cached SCD data first; opening the page can initiate a background update. Boston and New York remain excluded from storage and downloads pending provider permission.
🐈 Smart Kitty’s energy note: A high regional reading is not a verdict on sustainability. Weather, region size, industrial demand, and local generation all affect the comparison.
