Smart City Dispatch

Privacy Policy

Last updated: October 14, 2026

Smart City Dispatch (“SCD”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how information may be collected, used, and protected when you visit the Smart City Dispatch website.

Information we collect

SCD may collect limited information necessary to operate and improve the website. This may include analytics information, information submitted through contact forms, correction forms, feedback forms, and technical information contained in hosting and security logs.

Website analytics

SCD may use analytics services to understand website usage, including page visits, navigation patterns, and general performance information. Analytics information is used to improve the website experience and understand which content is useful to visitors.

Information submitted by users

If you submit a message, correction, or feedback through SCD forms, the information you provide may be stored to review submissions, respond to requests, correct content, and improve the site.

Hosting and security information

The website hosting provider may collect technical information such as IP addresses, browser information, and security-related logs for operation, reliability, and protection of the service.

External websites and sources

SCD contains links to external websites and public sources. SCD is not responsible for the privacy practices or content of external websites.

Cookies

SCD may use cookies or similar technologies required for analytics, security, and website functionality.

Data retention

SCD retains submitted information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this policy, including maintaining editorial records and responding to user requests.

Newsletter subscriptions

If you choose to subscribe, SCD stores your email address, subscription status, signup and consent timestamps and source, confirmation and unsubscribe timestamps, and limited subscription-management history. Email is the only required subscription field. Providing an address elsewhere on this site, including Talk to SCD, does not subscribe you.

Subscriptions use double opt-in: an address becomes active only after you confirm it. Resend processes the address and confirmation email as our email delivery provider. Confirmation links expire after 24 hours; secure token hashes, rather than plaintext confirmation tokens, are stored. Open and click tracking are disabled for subscription emails. Website analytics elsewhere remain as described above.

You may unsubscribe without logging in. Unsubscribe and suppression records prevent further newsletter eligibility; a fresh voluntary signup and confirmation are required to resubscribe. Suppressed addresses cannot reactivate themselves. SCD’s subscriber database is authoritative for consent and unsubscribe status; delivery-provider blocks may impose additional restrictions.

We retain active subscription records while you subscribe and retain limited consent and suppression history to honor your preferences and document consent. Expired confirmation tokens cannot activate a subscription. You may request access, correction, or deletion through the contact form linked below. Requests are reviewed by the owner; a minimal suppression record may be retained where necessary to prevent unwanted future mail. We do not sell newsletter email addresses.

For abuse prevention, the subscription system temporarily stores keyed hashes of client IP addresses and per-address rate-limit counters, not raw IP addresses or user-agent strings. Rate-limit entries expire within two hours and are removed on subsequent subscription requests. Infrastructure security logs are governed by the hosting section above. Confirmation and unsubscribe pages do not load analytics or marketing tracking.

Children

SCD is not directed toward children and does not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Changes to this policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated periodically. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date.

We do not require users to provide their name, email address, telephone number, or other identifying information in order to use Talk to SCD.

Users should not submit confidential, sensitive, proprietary, or personally identifying information through Talk to SCD. If a user voluntarily includes such information within a question, that information may be retained as part of the submitted question during the applicable retention period.

Smart City Dispatch does not use Talk to SCD questions to identify individual visitors, create advertising profiles, or provide targeted advertising.

Smart City Dispatch does not sell Talk to SCD questions or use them for targeted advertising.

Raw Talk to SCD questions may be retained for up to 90 days for analysis, troubleshooting, security, and improvement of the service. After that period, raw question records are deleted. Aggregated or de-identified information that does not reasonably identify an individual visitor may be retained for a longer period.

Smart City Dispatch takes reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect stored Talk to SCD information. However, no Internet service or electronic storage system can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

Where applicable law provides privacy rights concerning personal information, users may contact Smart City Dispatch using the contact information provided on this site to request access to or deletion of personal information associated with their use of Smart City Dispatch.
