WILL WE EVER SEE THE LINE?

I am beginning to think that NEOM will not be completed as originally envisioned. Given the political uncertainty in the region, its effects on business, and the project’s enormous cost—estimated at more than $500 billion—it seems increasingly likely that NEOM will be scaled back dramatically.

We may never see the full 170-kilometer desert skyscraper that was promised. That would be a pity. Whatever one thinks of its feasibility, The Line represented an extraordinarily bold attempt to reimagine what a future city could be.
