ABOUT THIS PROJECT
The Interlace is a large residential development in Singapore designed around multiple elongated building blocks arranged in an interlocking composition. The resulting courtyards and shared landscapes contrast with the conventional model of isolated high-rise towers. Its geometry allows a large housing development to organize communal spaces, circulation, and views at the scale of a neighborhood-like complex. The stacking pattern is a documented architectural form, but it does not establish that the building used modular prefabrication technology. The project provides a distinctive case study in high-density residential massing and landscape integration without requiring unsupported smart-building claims.
WHY IT MATTERS
The Interlace arranges elongated residential blocks in an interlocking composition that creates courtyards and shared landscapes between buildings. Its form departs from isolated tower development and organizes dense housing around communal outdoor spaces, circulation, and views. The project is included as an architectural and urban-planning case in high-density residential design; the stacked geometry alone does not establish modular construction technology.
RESEARCH NOTES & SOURCES
